The 10th High-Level Forum on Language Services & 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the National Emergency Language Service Group

From December 6 to 7, 2025, the 10th High-Level Forum on Language Services & 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the National Emergency Language Service Group was held at Guangzhou University, focusing on two themes: Digital Chinese Construction and Language Services and Peaceful China Initiative and Emergency Language Services. Co-hosted by Guangzhou University and the National Emergency Language Service Group, the forum brought together more than 120 expert representatives from over 50 universities and language technology enterprises.

On May 17, 2025, the 2nd Guangzhou University Chinese Language Education Forum & Symposium on Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture and Chinese Language Teaching was held at Guangzhou University. The forumwas hosted by Guangzhou University and organized by its School of Humanities and the National Language Service and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Language Research Center of the State Language Commission. Experts from universities within and outside the province, municipal teaching researchers, and master teachers and frontline educators from primary and secondary schools attended the event.

From November 30 to December 1, 2024, the 9th High-Level Forum on Language Services & The 3rd Youth Forum on Language Life Studies in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao was held at Guangzhou University. Focusing on “Language Services in the Process of Chinese-style Modernization”, the forum was jointly organized by Guangzhou University, relevant research centers of the State Language Commission, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Language Alliance, with support from entities like the Hong Kong Language Research Centre.

From November 23 to 24, 2023, the 4th Symposium on “Cross-Strait Language and Script Survey Research and Language Life” was successfully held at Guangzhou University. The conference was hosted by the Cross-Strait Language and Script Exchange and Cooperation Coordination Group and organized by the National Language Service and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Language Research Center of the State Language Commission and Guangzhou University’s School of Humanities. Over 60 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions across the Taiwan Strait gathered to discuss linguistic and script exchange and integrated development.

From December 27 to 28, 2022, the 7th High-Level Forum on Language Services was held under the theme Language Services and Digital China, with offline and online participation in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Wuhan.Co-hosted by Guangzhou University, the Institute of Applied Linguistics (Ministry of Education), Central China Normal University, The Commercial Press, and China Education Television, the forum welcomed experts from universities, research institutions, and language service enterprises nationwide.At the opening ceremony, the National Language Resource Service Platform was officially launched, providing authoritative resources for educational digitalization and social language needs.Four annual Reports on the State of Language Life in China (2022) were released, reflecting global trends in language services.
