Global Perspectives on the Development of China’s Language Economy
——A Review of Language Economics Research
Tan Jing
Abstract: "Language Economics Research" , is situated within the context of economic globalization and the expanding application of the Chinese language in international regional cooperation. Guided by the dual principles of regional collaboration and localized development, this study examines the emergence of the language economy driven by growing linguistic demands and its subsequent feedback effect on broader international exchange and cooperation. Grounded in an interdisciplinary framework integrating linguistics, industrial economics, and cultural communication, the research employs a combined approach of empirical analysis and predictive modeling. Through analysis of the global language industry, forecasting of its developmental trends, and case studies illustrating the symbiotic relationship between linguistic evolution and economic system construction, it utilizes diachronic data to demonstrate the efficacy of the language economy in regional initiatives such as the Belt and Road, revealing diversified developmental values and trends.
Building upon multidisciplinary foundations spanning linguistic principles, economic productivity, and industrial practices, the work expands the scope of language economy research. Furthermore, it addresses the demands of the intelligent era by integrating global perspectives on language industry development with China's linguistic realities, thereby enhancing the application scenarios of Chinese in global communication. The book provides a robust theoretical foundation and a "Chinese approach" for optimizing regional services, advancing language resource support for the Belt and Road Initiative, facilitating linguistic and cultural exchanges with partner countries, and deepening the integration of language and culture within international cooperation.
