The 2nd Guangzhou University Chinese Education Forum & Symposium on Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture and Chinese Language Teaching
On May 17, 2025, the 2nd Guangzhou University Chinese Language Education
Forum & Symposium on Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture and Chinese
Language Teaching was held at Guangzhou University. The forumwas hosted by
Guangzhou University and organized by its School of Humanities and the National
Language Service and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Language
Research Center of the State Language Commission. Experts from universities
within and outside the province, municipal teaching researchers, and master
teachers and frontline educators from primary and secondary schools attended
the event.
Aligning with the reform direction and curriculum standards of the new
era’s Chinese language education, this year’s forum focused on the deep
integration of excellent traditional Chinese culture with language teaching.
Discussions centered on topics such as classical text instruction, integrating
traditional culture into the classroom, cultivating core competencies in
Chinese language, innovating reading and writing instruction, and the
collaborative development of Chinese language education in the Guangdong-Hong
Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Through keynote reports, special lectures,
outstanding case study presentations, and roundtable discussions with master
teachers, the forum promoted the deep integration of theoretical research and
basic education teaching practices.
Participating experts and teachers jointly explored effective paths for
incorporating traditional culture into Chinese language teaching and shared
their achievements and practical experience in educational reform. The forum
further improved the collaborative education mechanism between universities and
basic education, providing strong support for inheriting excellent traditional
Chinese culture, enhancing the quality of Chinese language education, and
boosting high-quality regional educational development.
