The 9th High-Level Forum on Language Services & 3rd Youth Forum on Language Life in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
From November 30 to December 1, 2024, the 9th High-Level Forum on Language
Services & The 3rd Youth Forum on Language Life Studies in Guangdong, Hong
Kong, and Macao was held at Guangzhou University. Focusing on “Language
Services in the Process of Chinese-style Modernization”, the forum was jointly
organized by Guangzhou University, relevant research centers of the State
Language Commission, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Language Alliance, with
support from entities like the Hong Kong Language Research Centre. The
conference featured 33 keynote reports and 4 parallel sessions covering over 40
topics, comprehensively addressing the entire chain of language services.
Attending scholars focused on innovation in language services in the age of
artificial intelligence, with discussions on intelligent language learning,
large models and dialect culture, the digitalization of international Chinese
education, language technology empowerment, intelligent text processing, and
the cultivation of language service talent and discipline development. Based on
the needs of Chinese-style modernization, they explored the supporting role of
language services in the Digital China and Education Powerhouse initiatives and
the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promoting
the construction of a high-quality language service system with Chinese
characteristics.
